Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jessa is a beautiful female pittie mix that has been with our rescue since April. She is a little over a year old and 43 pounds. She is house trained and fully crate trained. She is not a morning dog and prefers to stay sleeping. I do not kennel her at night and she never moves from her sleep. She has never chewed on anything except dog toys, which she does go through quickly! She is a sweet dog that loves humans, kids, and playing with other dogs. She however plays rough and needs reminded of mannors and may be too much for most little kids. She has a loud intimidating bark that scares some people and dogs when meeting her but this girl is all love and just can't contain her happiness. If the other dog can get past her overwhelming need to bark in their face when meeting then they will go off romping and playing but her greeting skills have turned away some dogs from wanting to be her friend. She loves to cuddle! She needs a home where she can be a lap dog and a couch potato at relax time but also have good active time. She would be an excellent sports dog. She would excel at dock diving or disc. She has a very high drive for fetching out of the water and loves swimming and competing for sticks in the water with my dog. She is a hilarious dog that gives us good entertainment and makes us laugh every single day with her silliness and happiness.
Jessa had the opportunity to stay with a professional dog trainer. The trainer loves her and agrees she would be a great sports dog or even a therapy dog. She worked on her leash skills and basic commands and her mannors at the vet clinic. Jessa was a wonderful house guest for her and became buddies with all the trainer's dogs, including a grumpy older toy breed:)
Jessa has been to the vet for a few times with us due to UTIs and bladder issues. She is currently on Royal Canin urinary SO dog food that one vet believes she needs to be on. Another vet believes she just needs to be in a good quality dog food so we are still experimenting with what will work best for her.
Did I mention how beautiful she is! She is spayed, shots, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm negative and is ready for a home! Lexington Mo, $125. To adopt, must fill out an application. Please do not apply if you live in an area where pits are banned or do not have landlords permission.
