Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Slick is a purebred 7 week old female Black Labrador. She was born around the 1st of January. She got a clean bill of health from the Rescue's vet, and has received her 1st set of shots and de-worming. So she is all ready to go. She is an active little girl, she loves to run and play. She also is a sweetheart, and loves to cuddle. She is a very happy, playful puppy. If you're interested in adopting Slick, please fill out an application.
Puppy adoption fees are $300 each, and include the following:
(Exams at every visit) All 3 rounds of vaccinations (given at 8,12,16 weeks) All 3 de-wormings (8,12,16 weeks of age) Spay or neuter (done by 7 months of age, no exceptions) Microchip Start of heart worm preventative Available pet health insurance
We are getting asked why there is an adoption fee - simple, because there is medical work to be done and the Rescue is ran by volunteers who don't have the money to pay for this. For the amount of medical included, you are paying about half of what you would yourself when all is said and done. Please feel free to contact Veterinarians about their total cost of all of the medical we include - don't forget to add in the cost of an exam for each visit.
What is a puppy approved home? One that is in it for the long haul, not just the cute puppy stage. Homes that are looking for family pets that will be included into their lives and inside their home. And homes that can afford to care for these little ones. We are providing all the basics that every dog should get at half of the normal cost - we need to make sure their new homes can afford to provide them with quality dog food, training, supplies, and Veterinary care down the road. We can find hundreds of homes that will take a puppy, but we are looking for 5 that will adopt them as part of their family and keep them until the day they die.
If this is you, please go to www.utahlabrescue.com and fill out the online adoption application and a volunteer will contact you back shortly. Thanks!
Quick Lab Facts:
Adult Labs are large - males average 75 lbs, and females about 60 lbs. Don't want a large dog, please don't get a Lab.
Labs are high energy - I compare this breed to a "70 lb toddler" until the age of 4 when they start to calm down. Labs need daily walks and play, and need to be included in the home or they get bored and destructive.
Labs shed - in fact, every breed sheds. Those that are considered hypo-allergenic just have hair versus fur which helps with people who have allergies. The amount of shedding is up to you though; a high quality diet and regular quick brushes will keep the shedding to a minimal.
Labs in a nutshell are happy, outgoing, playful, intelligent, and just wonderful lovable goofballs. They are tons of fun and love to make you laugh, and crave to be with their people. They are easy to train, and respond best with positive reinforcement. They are kid-friendly but will knock over little ones, and puppy teeth/claws will give scratches, too. Know that when you get a puppy you are making a 15 yr. committment to that pet.
