My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Ziva Loves to cuddle, play fetch and tug-a-war. She's great with other animals (cats and dogs) and loves children of all ages. Ziva jumps up when excited, but gets down as soon as you tell her and we are working on that. When indoors, she enjoys lounging on the couch. She's kennel/crate trained and working on complete house training. Bell training (ringing a bell on the door when she needs to go out) has been the most effective for house training for her thus far. She occasionally goes potty in the house if very excited, or if you miss cues that she needs to potty. However, she is very smart and eager to please. She is still learning her manners on leash and will need additional obedience and leash training. She has a high level of puppy energy.

Ziva would love a family with children and other animals so she can have friends and companions. She loves attention and does not like being left alone if she's the only animal in the house. Her ideal home would be a family or couple with kids and/or another dog(s).

As with all young puppies, Ziva cannot be left alone for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time.  Part of our adoption contract is a promise to attend a puppy training class to ensure she has a great start learning the rules of life as a family member.  Are you ready to commit to training?  Do you have a heavy dose of patience?  Are you ready for puppy breath, cuddles, laughter and more?  Then perhaps Ziva is the girl for you :)  Please do your research on the Catahoula breed before applying.  They are an intelligent and active breed and require a committed owner.  Also, remember that any time you invest into your pup will be returned ten fold!  She truly is a special girl and we want to find the perfect home for her.

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org/forms and allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $400 which includes transport from Louisiana to Seattle, vetting/assessment (including spay/neuter), all shots and micro-chipping.
