My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you ballsy enough to adopt Piper? (Seriously, this girl loves balls!)

Piper came to Friends For Life after a high-rise apartment just wasn’t a good match for her lifestyle. She is dying for a home with a yard that she can fetch every day in!

Job please! Piper absolutely adores feeding her brain and she has mastered commands “sit”, “kennel”, “down”, “bring”, “drop”, and “give” to name a few. She is also trained to stay still for veterinary procedures, like blood draws and vaccinations.

Excellent house manners! Piper is very well-behaved indoors. Although she is crate-trained, she doesn’t need to stay in a crate when left alone because she is 100% housetrained and not destructive at all, though she does love chewing her toys.

A life in the burbs. Piper would prefer to live a predictable life in a quiet neighborhood. She likes her quiet, so is best as a companion for adults or kids 10 and up. She also really enjoys car trips to green spaces for walks in nature. This girl is no city mouse!

Proper intros, Please! Piper came to us extremely fearful of strangers. We’ve trained her to the point where she can reliably meet and trust new people in just one short meeting, but she does need to be formally introduced to feel comfortable with visitors.

Must play fetch! People who don’t like to throw balls need not apply for Piper! She is a working dog and her job of choice is to chase and locate balls and bring them back to you. She’ll climb obstacles and tread through water to get them and is a marvel to watch. At the same time, when the game is all done, she will dutifully head inside with you.

Do you have a quiet house, lots of toys, and an arm to throw them with? That’s all it takes to make Piper the happiest dog, ever! Come meet her today and see how happy she can make you with her adorable antics!
