Will Not Be Available For Adoption Until Heart Worm Treatment Completed End of April.
When Gretchen first came to VGSR she did not know any commands or house rules. Being under-socialized and physically abused, Gretchen is skittish and fearful.
The first month Gretchen was frightened to go on walks. With patience and consistency, she not only has learned ‘Sit’ and is crate-trained and nearly house-broke, but she now leaves her crate willingly when she sees the leash and runs to the door for her walks!
Gretchen is very thin, so nice, long walks are needed to build her muscle.
Gretchen feels safe in her crate and will go to it when scared. As Gretchen needs time to trust, she will require a patient and quiet owner. She will make it worth your while when she rolls over for her first belly rub request. Gretchen does still not understand play, but with time she may show how many surprises she has for you.
Gretchen has the potential to be a sweet, loving companion for a low energy household that will take the time to build a trusting relationship.
