Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy has had a very hard life...she was thrown out with newborn puppies to the empty lot next to the owner’s apt and a neighbor called our rescue to help them. We did go to pick her up but the owner made my volunteer friend, that was helping with the situation, sign a paper that after the puppies were adopted we would return Lucy to him. I did not like the idea at all, but my friend said she gave her word. We got a vet clinic in WPB that offered to board and care for Lucy and the pups until all the puppies were adopted. The pups all got wonderful homes, so it was time to return Lucy to the owner as unfortunately was agreed.
We talked to the man and begged him to give us Lucy, that we could get a great home for her but he said no. A few months later he called me to pick up Lucy as he had family health problems and could not have Lucy. We found out that he had Lucy tied to the door knob most of the time, according to the neighbors.
We got a lady to foster Lucy and after a few weeks she said she wanted to adopt her. This was 2 1/2 years ago, Lucy had been living with this lady but apparently she is mentally unstable and April 11th she called to pick up Lucy before 5 PM or she would take her to the pound or leave her in the street, she said that she did not want anymore dogs, she also gave away other 2 dogs she had. I was appalled about the decision as she had taken and that not even gave time to get a foster home to care for Lucy.
Lucy is now at a boarding place, but before we got her fully vetted and she is healthy. I feel very sad about her, as she is an an older dog and deserves all the love and care she can get, she is a good companion dog, sweet and obedient, she is about 8 to 9 years old but in good health.
If you have in heart adopting Lucy or know of anyone that can foster her or adopt her, let us know, maybe a mature couple, a retired person or anyone that can give her lots of love she so desperately needs...please let us know.
Call us at 786 368-8005 or email us furangelsrescue@gmail.com. An application for adoption or foster is required and a home visit. If someone can foster we will provide all the needs, food, vet care, meds, all. Thank you and God bless.
