My story

In 2012, Starbuck was born in a junkyard only two days prior to his arrival at Beauty’s Haven. His humans didn’t even know that his mom, Bella, had been pregnant. They were both in poor condition and lucky to be alive. Starbuck required extensive care and he experienced several setbacks during his rehabilitation, but thankfully, he overcame all of his issues and grew to become a beautiful, solid horse. He was adopted out in 2013, but, unfortunately, his adopter developed health issues and Starbuck was returned to Beauty’s Haven.

Starbuck has been ridden on trails, but needs more training and time under saddle. He is looking for a home that will continue his training (natural horsemanship methods only) to be a trail horse/companion horse.

Note: X-rays revealed significant changes in his right front navicular bone. This will have to be continuously monitored as he ages, especially as it relates to his ability to be ridden. He is wearing shoes. At this point, he is doing well, but limitations of RIDING AT A WALK ONLY and periodic follow-up x-ray evaluations will be included in his contract. Weight limitation of 200 pounds which includes tack. Starbuck is a fun, curious fellow!
