My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paint • Filly • 2014 YOB

Kiana, a two week old orphan paint filly came to us in the spring of 2014. Her mom had given her everything she had until she succumbed to starvation. The filly tried to survive by nursing off another mare, but that mare rejected her. She was a confused little girl – you could clearly see that in her eyes. We didn’t hesitate to take her to the rescue. It was obvious that her immune system was very weak and her heart was broken. Theresa saw this baby as a divine little lost angel and vowed to help her after humans had failed both her and her mom. The name “Kiana” came to Theresa one night while sitting with the filly. Theresa promised her that her life would only get better. “Kiana” means divine or heavenly in Hawaiian. It fits her perfectly.

Kiana was adopted but, unfortunately, her adoptive human family had an unexpected change in life circumstance and could not keep her. Kiana went to a wonderful foster home but returned to us in late 2017.

Kiana is a beautiful girl that is looking for a forever home as a trail horse. She has started training sessions with Dan Rexroad. She needs a home where her human will continue her training (natural horsemanship training methods only) and help her to become the wonderful trail horse that we know she can be.
