Hi everybody!! My name is Rosie and I am a beautiful green wing Macaw. I have visited a vet since coming into Rescue and I have been given a clean bill of health.
I can honestly say that I am not much trouble at all. I have a brand new large home so no need to worry as where to keep me. I could use a few more toys, though. Now remember I would need large size toys and we do like to chew on wood – just a hint for you. I will need lots of space, because I am a very big bird and I love to get out and stretch my wings. Another thing you should know about me is that I do NOT get along with men! I must be adopted into a home where my primary caretaker will be a woman. I also must go to a family that has some previous experience with macaws.
I love to eat almost anything that is healthy for me, even my vegetables!!! I love apples, oranges, Zupreem pellets, corn and green beans. I will eat almost anything EXCEPT those bananas. If I really like a food you give me I will let you know by saying “mmmm”!
When I meet someone, I will say “Hello” and then “goodbye” when it is time for you to leave. I also say “baby”, “baby bird”, and “pretty bird”. And of course, I will say “step up” when I want to go somewhere. When it is ok for me to come out and play all you have to do is just open the door and I can climb out. But PLEASE, PLEASE do not put your hands inside of my home. I definitely do not like that.
I hope by reading this bio you will want to meet me. I would love to find my forever home with lots of space and lots and lots of attention. I do love attention.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the birdâs cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
