My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maple is a lovely, 5 year old chocolate lab; Maple is half of the “Maple-and-Lilly” bonded pair surrendered to our shelter. Maple and Lilly formerly lived with adults, children, and other pets; they know “sit,” “shake,” and “lay down;” Maple and Lilly were surrendered to us because circumstances changed, so both dogs have to be re-homed. In their individual kennels Maple and Lilly stand facing each other, sending secret signals across the middle aisle; they wait for one another when being led outside, and love to jog side by side in the play yard; Maple, the chocolate lab, and the bigger of the two, often finds a toy in the yard and uses it to lure Lilly into chasing her. It’s hard to think about these dogs separately because it’s such a treat and so lovely to share their company together.
