Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tierney. 4 year old female Shih Tzu mix. Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped. Adoption fee $225.00 Great with dogs. No kids under the age of 16 due to being extremely timid.
PLEASE READ. Tierney came from a backyard breeder situation where she had very little human contact and will need a specific type of home.
REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT TIERNEY:
1. Another young and playful dog.
2. Someone that doesn’t leave her for long periods of time.
3. Someone that is willing to work with her on housetraining.
4. Someone that is patient and calm and understanding of her initial fear of humans.
5. No children in the household.
6. A physical fence.
(Explanations for each below)
Tierney is such an adorable little thing and as sweet as they come. Not a mean bone in her body. She MUST have a dog in her forever home at all times. She depends on dogs to feel safe and for guidance.
She is crate trained and does fine in one as long as she is in one with another dog or the crate is in the same room as the other dog.
Her foster mom has been working with her on housetraining. She has made great strides but has had an accident or two. She will need to be crated when no one is home and taken out on a consistent basis when someone is there.
She needs a quieter home that is why we are saying no children under the age of 16. It can take a week or two before she feels comfortable with consistent people in her life.
When first in her foster home, she wouldn’t let her foster mom even pet her, but now really enjoys being petted and especially loves back scratches! She LOVES to sleep in bed with her foster mom and foster dog brothers. Her ideal forever home would need to have a similar set up.
She is not a big barker, she’s really quiet. She does stay pretty active by chewing on cow hooves and nylabones. She is very food motivated!
We are going to be very thorough when selecting the ideal home for Tierney due to her past. She is a sweet and special girl with special needs!
