Hi I'm Roxie Foxie! I was picked up as a stray in MI and I've been in boarding for the past few weeks while getting my vetting squared away and waiting for a ride to rescue. The vet thinks I was used for breeding and then possibly dumped off. I'm about 5 years old, maybe a little more, maybe a little less, but I'm in the prime of my life and can't wait to find my own forever family!!
My foster Mom says that I'm very active and have plenty of energy. I get along excellent with other dogs, and even stayed at Camp Bow Wow for a week. I was lucky enough to play with all sorts of dogs, and I really like to play with the big dogs. The camp counselors said I was very sweet and could come back anytime.
I have a high prey drive so a house with small critters or cats won't work for me. I actually think I may like to try hunting, because I've got the energy and the nose for it. My foster home has a bird and it's hidden in a back room, but I know it's in there!!!! I'm underweight but since my foster Mom has put me on a GRAIN FREE dry food I’m packing on the pounds. Once I gain a few pounds, I'll be in perfect shape! I like to play and go on nice long walks with my foster sister and brother. I am crate trained and housebroken. I do need to learn some basic 'manners' for inside living though. I was a major counter surfer but my foster mom keeps me in check. Now I counter surf every now and then. I forget sometimes so my foster Mom has to remind me. I also like to look out the window to keep watch on the house. It takes one call from my foster Mom and I hop right down. I just want to make sure no critters get into the yard! I haven’t been in foster care long, but I like it. I'm a typical velcro GSP and love to sit or lay touching my person or my foster brother or sister. My foster Mom says I’m smart and a fast learner. I already know sit and stay but I get very excited and wiggle a lot. I’m just so happy to have a place to sleep, eat and play!
My foster Mom has a blog where she keeps updates of me and all of my foster brothers and sisters at http://brownheadedhound.blogspot.com. If you are interested in adopting me or learning more about me, please email the rescue volunteers at gsprescuenj@hotmail.com
