My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

3/27, UPDATE:  Cogan is doing wonderful and his foster mom reports he is such a good boy who is so eager to please!! He has made improvements with his housebreaking and is learning very quick.  His overall manners have also improved.  Cogan is such a sweet boy and is learning that his crate is not a bad place.  He eagerly goes in or I should say runs in J for his meals and he knows when it’s bedtime.  He’s such a funny boy, he usually carries around one of his toys in his mouth at all times.  He also gets along with the resident cat.  He’s curious and will chase the cat, but it seems he just wants to play.  The kitty wants no part!  Cogan and his sister the vizsla share toys and nylabones with no issues.  His sister usually steals whatever it is Cogan has to tease him into playing with her.  Which he eagerly obliges!

Since Cogan didn’t receive much socialization as a puppy, he’s shy with new people but warms up pretty quick.  He loves to sit next to his foster mom, as close as possible, for some one on one time.  He also follows her around the house making sure he knows where she is at all times.

Won’t you consider giving this sweet guy a home to call his own?  He’d love to have a nice snuggly dog bed in his new home but most importantly a family to love him.  Cogan does have one small request….please make sure you have plenty of tennis balls for our future games of fetch!

Cogan is a very handsome white and liver ticked pup.  He’s 10 months old and approx. 55lbs.  Cogan is an owner surrender, and unfortunately he did not receive much socialization and structure as a pup.  His former owner could not handle a large active breed so they reached out to rescue to find him a proper home he so deserves.  Cogan is now in a foster home where he is enjoying some new found freedom…a yard!   Poor Cogan never had access to a yard, let alone being able to run and play like any pup should!  Cogan now has a “sister” in his foster home, a female vizsla.  They are getting along famously, they play/run/wrestle for hours.  Cogan absolutely loves exploring the back yard and playing with his toys, especially tennis balls.  He enjoys a good game of fetch!  Cogan has a pretty good recall, he knows sit and off.  Working on wait, down and other commands.  He’s very smart so I have no doubt he will learn real quick.  In Cogan’s previous home, he lived in a small apartment and was paper trained.  His foster mom is housebreaking and crate training him.  Progress has been made, but more work is needed.  Cogan is going into his crate & is settling down much quicker.  More information on Cogan to come….
