Meet Maci!
This sweet girl is estimated to be about 2-3 years old and is the biggest love-bug ever. She comes into rescue from a backyard breeder who was not caring for her. She was a bit shy at first; however in less than 24 hours, she was already feeling right at home and has been the perfect house guest. Considering spent most of her life in a cage used for breeding, she has learned quickly.
Like most labs, this young vibrant girl is full of curiosity and meets new situations with an open heart. She has great energy and enjoys multiple walks a day. She loves toys! She carries around her favorites like they are babies and will take them to bed with her. She is a great jogging partner and loves to explore. She is currently being fostered in a home with 2 senior labs, so when it is time to chill, she will find a sunny spot on the floor or by your feet, after she has plopped her head in your lap for some extra snuggles.
Maci is potty-trained and knows how to sit, stay, and wait. She has not been crated at all in her foster home (considering she lived in one her whole life, it is a place of fear), and has proven to be trustworthy when left alone with her foster siblings. She is working on drop it (oh so hard with tennis balls!) and is very gentle when taking treats. She walks pretty well on a leash, and loves to play catch. She has not been tested with cats or small children, but has been around school-aged kids and is all smiles. She is very eager to please, but most of all, she just loves to be loved. She will come right up to you even when standing, and place her chin on your legs and just look up lovingly with those big brown eyes.
Maci will make a wonderful addition to a very lucky family. She is very easy going and sweet natured. A fenced yard with room to run would be ideal, but as long as there is an outlet to get walks and playtime, she will do just great. But she definitely needs an active home. This girl will give you all of her heart and loyalty, and can't wait to start her new life with a family to call her own.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster home for a dog in need! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering on our website:
