Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Royal (Hank) is a loving and (very!) energetic pup. He is 1-2 years old. He has been undergoing treatment for heartworm and will be available for adoption once he is cleared. He is the perfect walking dog, never pulls and doesn't care about his surroundings. He knows sit and stay and will eat off of a fork very gently. He gets along with other dogs and cats and loves playing with his Great Dane foster sister!
He still needs training to help him learn to control his energy (he would love to be with someone runs) and not jumping or pawing. He is not aware of his size; like most other Danes he thinks he is a 160 lb Chihuahua! He can take longer to warm up to some men but does learn to trust them.
The best home for him would include:
1) Fenced in yard
2) No children under the age of 8 because he doesn’t realize his size, he may knock them over)
3) No small dogs because he doesn’t realize his size, he may walk on them
4) Family must have experience with large breed dogs
To meet Royal, complete an adoption application on our website at www.homesweethomepetrescue.org.
