Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Look at this gorgeous hunka hunka burnin love. Meet Oscar. He is a purebred male Boston Terrier. He is a big not and weighs in at around 25 lbs. Hrmr is crate trained, house trained (minus a few accidents) neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Here is the tricky part and probably why he hasn't been adopted yet. Oscar is DEAF. He is also dog aggressive. Let me explain. Oscar and the other Boston who came from the same house were owner surrenders. Oscar came to me and the other one went to another rescue. The owners were moving and had no choice but to regime their animals. They had 2 GSD's, 2 Boxers, 2 Boston Terriers and another dog. They got Oscar originally from the Martinez Shelter after he was brought back 3 times before someone finally took a chance on him. I think some people didnt realize he was deaf and some people didnt know how to handle his dog aggression. Oscar at some point was attacked by a pitbull which isnthe reason or catalyst as to why he is aggressive now. However in his last home he was able to be around another Boston without having issues 98% of the time. I mean what siblings never have a scuffle lol. Anyway since he has been here at the rescue he did initially try to go after other dogs. Not because of pure aggression but out of fear. However I was successfully able to get him out of that state of mind and to focus on something else. I do believe that with the right people who have the time he can successfully live with one other dog. But it will take work on your part to make him feel safe. But of course if you have no other dogs that would definitely be ideal. He loves people and he likes children as well. That has never been his problem. So I will ask that because of his fear-based dog aggression and because of the fact that he is deaf that whoever is interested in him have experience with Boston Terriers and deaf dogs. Please don't let anything I said be a deterrent from coming to meet this guy. If you are truly interested please send me an email.
