My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Leroy's favorite toys are rope toys and balls. His favorite playtime activity is playing fetch. Leroy is g reat with children and loves all animals (cats and dogs.) He enjoys playing outside, especially running around and fetch. Leroy is kennel/crate trained and is working hard on being completely house trained. So far, bell training (Leroy ringing a bell at the door when he needs to go out to potty) has been the most effective with his potty training. He is still learning his manners on leash and will need additional obedience and leash training. Leroy loves his baths and is a breeze to bathe. He will initially jump up when excited, but will get down when told and we will continue to work on that. After a playing session Leroy loves to lounge on the couch. Leroy is eager to learn and please and is quite intelligent. He would do best in a home with another dog(s) and/or children as he likes to have companions to play with.

As with all young puppies Leroy cannot be left alone for more than 2-3 hrs at a time and is still working on his potty training. Part of our adoption contract is a promise to attend a puppy training class to ensure he has a great start learning the rules of life as a family member.  Are you ready to commit to training?  Have a hefty dose of patience? Are you ready for puppy breath, cuddles, laughter and more?  Then perhaps Leroy is the boy for you :)  Please do your research on puppy ownership before applying, - remember, the time you put into your dog will be returned ten fold!

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org/forms.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog (unless you want it to), but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers.  Adoption Fee is $400 which includes transport from Louisiana to Seattle, vetting (including spay/neuter), all first year shots/vaccines and micro-chipping.
