Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Penelope is a Dachshund. She is Red. Penelope is 7 years old. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She weighs around 12 lbs.
Penelope is a little ball of sunshine! Every time she see's you she comes trotting down the hallway with her ears bouncing with every step she takes. She loves being held in lap, and if your sitting there, she likes to walk over and jump up on your leg and then look up letting you know she wants up! She'll sit on your lap and fall asleep while your watching television or even looking on the computer. She loves being wherever you are, and since she was used to having someone always there, she expects it. Penelope isn't a little lady that you can leave behind. She likes to cry if you leave her out of your room because she wants to be there for you as a companion. So Penelope has a habit of inviting herself wherever we go, she loves to go in the car for errands and sitting in the front seat on your lap sleeping. She loves to sleep underneath the covers in bed with you and burrow through them until she finds a comfy spot then she'll sleep until you wake up the next morning. She loves to go for short walks to go potty, especially if someone dresses her up in her cute pink dress or sweater. She is a girl who deserves a life of spoiling and pampering!
Penelope would do well in a household with a retired mommy and daddy, so they can be home all the time with her and take her wherever they go. She gets lonely when she's left alone so someone who works six to eight hours a day wouldn't be good, because Penelope wants companionship. Also since she is a Dachshund and very low to the ground, a household without small children would be best, she is tiny and could accidentally be stepped on. So Penelope is looking for a family who spend their days at home or at least somewhere where she can go along with them.
Penelope is not aggressive with other dogs, she's has been with small, large, young and old dogs.
At the rescue we require dogs to be kept indoors. There is a $95 adoption fee for puppies, and a $85 adoption fee for Adult/Senior Dogs.
