My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We hope your throwing arm is ready to play fetch ***all*** day because we have the girl for you! Gertie is a one year old, 25 lb. little ball of energy looking for a sporting home. Because she is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog with drive very typical of the breed, we know that she will need a family/person who will appreciate her work ethic. So far, we have seen Gertie's potential in agility and frisbee, and we are currently working on her tug drive and desire to work for a tennis ball. She is quite agile and has excellent speed and height in her jump, which leads us to believe she would making an excellent sporting dog companion.

In addition to her many talents, Gertie is very friendly and social with all the people and dogs she has met. She is not nippy and can be a bit on the submissive side, but her confidence is built easily in play. She is house and crate trained and is not destructive, however she is no couch potato! She has already learned the foundations for many tricks, including "twirl," "roll over," "sit pretty," and weaving through legs for a ball reward. Her intelligence, eager-to-please personality, and learning capability is no joke!

Gertie is currently undergoing training at Found Training Center, where her drive is being honed in on by certified professional dog trainers. We are able to evaluate Gertie for most kinds of work and can send video upon request. Please contact brittney@caninesandcompany.org for more information about this talented and special little girl.
