Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ARCHIE IN CHICAGO HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
Archie in Chicago is a handsome 3 yr. old 12 lb. gentleman who has an adoption pending and will be going to his new forever home very soon! i
This delightful little guy is a very sweet, low key, affectionate, and exceedingly charming Griff who will steal your heart away in a New York minute! His wish list includes a younger adult only home where someone can be home with him most of the time, at least one other small dog for companionship, a securely fenced yard, a lap available to him at all times, and a VIP spot reserved for him in the big bed at night snuggled up to his special somebody.
As eager as he is to find his brand new happily forever after, Archie would not be a good candidate for a long distance adoption because he is anxious riding in a car and often becomes car sick. Hopefully with time his anxiousness will resolve, but for now he would be most comfortable traveling a short distance.
Archie is 99% reliably house trained but wears a belly band indoors because he still tends to mark. He was recently neutered so this tendency may (or may not) subside in the coming months as his little boy hormones settle down. Despite marking indoors we think he is doing remarkably well on house training. His foster mom takes him outside every 2-3 hours, and he immediately pees outside. He has not had any poo accidents indoors.
Archie is a total love bug and wants to be with his family 24/7. He also loves sharing a dog bed with one of his favorite foster siblings for long afternoon naps. He experiences some mild separation anxiety and does not like being crated or spending time in an xpen alone, however we suspect he would do fine in an xpen while his family is out of the house if he had a buddy to share the space with.
Archie is a very curious little boy. He doesn't care much for toys or even playing, but he does enjoy exploring! For some reason Archie has found the bath tub to be exceedingly interesting. His foster family finds it hilarious. It is not unusual to find him behind the shower curtain peering into the bathtub.
Already he walks fairly well on lead, and when off lead in his foster home's fenced yard prefers to follow his foster mom, or at the very least keeping her within eye sight at all times. He does the same when indoors - this little guy is the epitome of a true velcro Griff!
Archie spent the first part of his life in a puppy mill/pet store operation eventually making his way to an animal shelter where NBGR found him and brought him into our foster home program. Before coming to NBGR he never knew about the good life in a home where he is loved, nurtured and cared for. His amazing foster family has given him the best of care, while patiently and lovingly helping him adjust to life outside the mill and pet store.
Archie still has a way to go, but in the right home we are certain he will continue to blossom. This little boy is all about love, staying close to his family, snuggling with a 4 legged buddy, and of course never misses an opportunity to find a warm lap.
Archie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, on monthly heart worm preventative, had a recent dental, and is micro chipped.
