Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Helen is fostered in Lancaster TX through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org.
Helen comes to UYR as an abandoned dog used in breeding. She was discarded by her owners when she was no longer of any value to them. She is most likely about 10 yrs old and weighs 9.7lbs.
Despite skin infection and loss of most of her hair, it's obvious she's relieved to be in the arms of love and safety. Although in constant discomfort as she begins her healing journey, she not only wags her tail but gladly gives the sweetest kisses! Fortunately, she's heart worm negative and it has been determined that her skin issues are probably untreated infections induced by either fleas or allergies. She has had a full blood panel which will help us to determine next steps. UYR will treat her and get her on the road to recovery with a new home to follow!
Helen gets along with her fur siblings and is catching on quickly to the routines. There's a beautiful Yorkie under all of this neglect just waiting to catch up on the good life of love, attention, snuggles, quality food and being treated like a princess. Helen is making great progress both physically and emotionally. She loves hanging with the pack, eating and being near her person.
Helen has learned to go outside for her business and then sit for her treat. She gets a medicated bath followed by a coconut oil rub down several times a week and it's paying off. Her hair is starting to grow as her skin gets healthier and she doesn't itch nearly as much. Helen still has a long road in front of her but she's making progress and we can't wait for her to find her forever loving home!
