My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! It’s me, Sophie. I am 2-year old, super-sweet, but somewhat shy little girl. Not too much is known about my history. I used to live in this place called a puppy mill. It wasn’t very nice there and my foster mom’s vet thinks that I have had at least 2 if not 3 litters of puppies in my short life so far. I came to my foster mom because this nice lady rescued me from a shelter in TN and knew that my foster mom helps to rescue min pins in need. I was definitely in need because before I came into rescue, I never knew what it was like to be a dog and be loved by a human. I am very quickly learning that humans can be wonderful companions, and that it’s wonderful to be living in a house with a warm bed to sleep in and all the blankets that I could ever want to keep me warm. It took me a day to warm up to my foster mom, and now I am her shadow. I love to gets hugs and kisses, and I especially loved to be scratched and pet! In fact, when I want attention from my foster mom and she’s not giving it to me, I will get right in her lap and scratch at her hands until she pets me. When I came to my foster mom, I had a pretty severe ear infection, which had not been treated so I was not feeling my best. Since I’ve been on medicine to help take care of it, I’m feeling so much better. My foster mom says I’m starting to act much more like a min pin. When I got here, I couldn’t even hold my head up straight because I was in so much pain and now, I am running, jumping, and dancing right alongside my foster brother and sisters. I’m gonna go now, but I’ll let my foster mom tell you more about me and the wonderful girl that I am!

Sophie really is a sweetheart! She was shy at first and needed time to come to me on her own. Once she did, it didn’t take her long at all to warm up to me. She also did well with my vet and the technicians at the vet’s office. They all quickly fell in love with her and learned that treats are definitely the way to Sophie’s heart. She seems to be a very fast learner and is very motivated to please, especially when treats are involved. Sophie is crate-trained, and we are working on house-breaking her. She has learned to go outside with the other dogs, but still needs to be let outside frequently when someone’s home and watched while she is inside. Sophie seems to get along well with the 3 other dogs in my house, loves to play with squeaky toys, and does not even pay any attention to my cat. Sophie is still being treated for an ear infection and needs to be spayed, microchipped, and brought up-to-date on all vaccinations prior to being adopted, but it won’t take long at all before this special girl is ready for her furever home!

If you have any questions about Sophie, I will be more than happy to tell you everything you need to know. Feel free to email me at megan@rescueminpins.com and if you’re interested. Don’t forget to mention my name Sophie when filling out your application.
