Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet little Coyote boy was hit by a car and languished on the side of the road for over a week, paralyzed and left with a portion of one of his rear legs severed off in the grisly accident. Someone found him and took him in to our vet in Manzanillo. He was in very rough shape and struggling to hang on and had developed an infection as well. Other vets would have euthanized him, but not only did our vet fight to save him, she also did everything she could to save the mangled leg. In the end, it couldn't be saved, but Coyote survived, and under loving care, he began to recover.
This sweet pup is now a bouncy, lively boy full of life and in need of a home. He is friendly, affectionate, playful and gets along with other dogs. Cats are unknown. There is no place for him to go here, so unfortunately he has been living in a kennel at the vet for months. He is about 2 years old, a mixed breed sterilized male about 25lbs. He can get around on his own on smooth surfaces and seems to have some movement in his remaining rear leg that could possibly improve with rehab. He is a great candidate for a cart, but you better be prepared to chase him down, because this boy is fast once he gets some support in his back end, even with a support harness. He can go to the bathroom on his own but we are not sure if he has control. He may be a good candidate for a belly band to wear in the house if/until he can be potty trained.
Coyote can live a happy active life with a family willing to provide some adaptive help in the way of a cart or rear lift harness. He will do great in most any home and will bring much joy into your world. He radiates with joy. He can go to the bathroom on his own but we are not sure if he has control. He may be a good candidate for a belly band to wear in the house if/until he can be potty trained.
He would fly to Colorado March 22 if we can confirm a home for him. We need a confirmed home as opposed to foster by March 20 in order to get him out of Mexico. We cannot bring him if we cannot find a home.
