Meet Bella. Her luck just took a marvelous turn! Released from a commercial breeder, Rosie’s found she had a tumor on her belly and lo and behold: It’s benign. Bella is scheduled to have her spay surgery soon and with that, the tumor will be removed. Lucky lucky girl!
She is now exploring the big new world with her foster family. She loves walks, although she can’t go for long on her own steam but she will cuddle in your arms for the rest of the walk and look around and look at you with interest. Eventually, she will build stamina and strength and be able to go further and further to joyfully sniff and explore the world.
Stairs are also a bit tricky for her until she gets stronger. But she wants to follow you around the house, so you have to make sure you remember your little friend Bella and bring her along when you change floors or she’ll stand at the bottom step and wag and smile until you break down and get her, which isn’t long because once in your arms, she settles quietly, and snuggles in deep.
She is just learning to play which is fun to watch, she nudges a ball or toy around for a while, trying to figure it out and every now and then she just randomly jogs down the hall skipping and wagging because she can!
She is quiet as a mouse so far. All you hear from her are little grunts and chirps when you cuddle her….no barks yet so she probably would be good in attached homes but she loves company so long days alone would maybe not be ideal for her. She has lacked companionship her whole life and needs to make up for it now!
Like many commercial breeder dogs, she hasn’t gotten her toilet training down and her foster family is working on it but progress is slow. She knows she gets treats for going outside but sometimes forgets that inside is a no-no.
If you are looking for a quiet, sweet, constant and devoted friend, maybe Bella is waiting for you!
