Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shadi is a spayed female, smart dog about 7-8 years old, and is a rescue from Iran. She has come a long way in search of someone who can love her and show her the good life. Her front legs are healthy and do most of the work. She is missing half of her left rear leg and has no functional knee in the right. She is also missing her 'big toe' on the right foot but really does not seem to miss it. She still uses both back legs quite well despite their conditions but would benefit greatly from someone with a one level home, very few steps, ramps would be ideal. She is uncomfortable on slick, tile, vinyl and hardwood floors and would be best suited to a carpeted home. Despite her disability she still manages to run and play with other dogs and even chases a running cat. She would be best suited to someone willing to give her time to adapt to new dogs and people. Someone who is ok with short walks and willing to wait for her from time to time. Her ideal home would also have a fenced in yard to allow her the freedom to explore and potty at her own pace. She wants to chase and bark at the adult cats she currently resides with but has also bonded with a new kitten in the home so there is hope for her with cats. Savvy, dog smart cats that know to stand still rather then running from her would do fine! As with any dog some basic command training would be helpful but would have to take place on carpet or outdoors on a surface she is comfortable on. She walks pretty good on a leash but prefers to be loose and feel in control of herself. She does well in a crate. Is VERY housebroken! Her favorite thing in the world is being scratched where she cant reach, belly rubs and naps!! She loves everyone she meets as long as they give her a scratch!! Shadi is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, heartworm/lyme negative, and microchipped.
