My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there all you potential adopters!!! My name is Snoopy and I am a 10 year old Albino Ring Neck Dove. Yes, you heard that right... a Dove!! The wonderful folks at FPR aren't always "all about parrots", they are about coming to the rescue, when needed! (when possible) My species can live to be at least 15 to 20 years old, so I have lots of years left to give someone some happy days.

I will fly around everyday as if I am just a fledgling. I like to get my exercise, just like you do. After all, that helps us to live longer and I want to be around to hit my 20's or even older.

When flying around, my favorite place to land is on someone's head!! LOL!!! No worries, though, as I am very easy to get down and very friendly with everyone. Then when done with my exercise, I just love to curl up on someone's chest and coo as I get some real good head scratches!! Coo Coo Coo!!! My cooing can be very comforting to you as the head scratches are to me.

Now I'm a little bit different from those parrots, but I do think that is a good thing. I will never be a talker, but my foster Mommy says my coos are so much more pleasant to the ear!!

My diet is somewhat like a parrot as I also eat seeds and fruits and those veggies. But since I do not have one of those sharp beaks to crack seeds, I eat them whole. Because of this fact, you do need to feed me supplementary grit to help me digest my food. No need to worry, as my foster Mommy will show you how to mix my food properly.

I do need you to know that I cannot be kept with other parrots unsupervised!! That would not be good for me at all. My skin is very thin and my beak is very weak, so even a small parrot could hurt me very easily. But don't think I wouldn't try to put up a fight!!

Another thing you should know about me is that I need to be kept away from those things called mirrors. Why?? Because I am obsessed with trying to peck at the other dove behind the mirror. I haven't won a fight with this dove but I haven't lost one either!! LOL!!!

Not really sure how I would feel about being with another dove since I've always been a single dove my entire life and I would prefer to keep it that way.

Humans - well I love love them! They give great head scratches and feed me some yummy foods.

Right now, I am hoping to find my forever home where I can retire and live out the rest of my life being loved and pampered. After all, I *am* special. I am a DOVE, not one of those parrots! So, if interested why not fill out an application and see what happens. I also have an Amazon wish list! Snoopy doves like gifts too. I would be most appreciative of anything you might like to buy me from it. The link is below.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my story!

Coo coo coo,
Snoopy
