This gorgeous girl is named Clover. She was taken into our rescue after receiving a plea from a rural shelter in NC. MMR has worked with this shelter before, and knows how few of their bully breeds get out of that shelter and into rescue. But this girl was one of the lucky ones. The wonderful staff does all they can to save as many as possible, but given their location, it is difficult. Fortunately for Clover, the president of MMR saw her beautiful face just days before she would have been euthanized. The staff sent out a desperate plea to save her because she is such a sweet, loving, funny girl who deserved a second chance.
Clover is around 1-2 years old and weighs 45 pounds, as of September, 2015. Clover has now been spayed and is up to date on all required vaccines. She is also heart worm negative and now on a monthly preventative. Her temporary foster in NC said she has some 'puppy' left in her, and especially enjoyed her first bath after her rescue. She ran and played and finally mellowed out after she was all dry. It was pure joy for her. She is now in Virginia with a Mutts Matter foster who is enjoying her very much. She has become a great companion.
As noted, Clover is incredibly sweet....and according to her temporary foster....a bed hog!! She lays her head on the pillow just like a person, and snuggles right along side whoever her bed buddy is....and she has a nice, soft snore. She woke her temporary foster mom up the first morning with sloppy, sweet kisses. She has super cute mannerisms and is very personable. She appears to be mostly house trained, and likes her leash walks. Clover is known to flop right over and ask for belly rubs....even kicking her leg like it tickles.....not only is she a STUNNING dog, she has a top notch personality as well!!
MMR is looking for a family for Clover who lives in a single family home with a fenced yard. We believe she would do fine with children over the age of 10, and would also benefit from another similar size, friendly dog to be her pal and show her the ropes. EXPERIENCE WITH BULLY BREEDS IS STRONGLY PREFERRED AND PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE FAMILIES WHO HAVE LIVED WITH THIS BREED CURRENTLY OR IN THE PAST. MMR will be highly selective in her placement, and she will not be placed in any area that has restrictions on ownership of this breed. Finally, the adoptive family/person will be required to take Clover through a basic obedience class within 6 months of her adoptions. MMR will follow up to ensure this is completed.
If you are looking for a new friend, Clover may just be your girl. Apply today!!!

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster home for a dog in need! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering on our website:

MMR covers the vet care, food, and tools to get started. You supply the love. Fostering saves lives. Sometimes a foster home is the only thing standing between life and death.
