Meet Frances (fondly known as "Francie"), a very pretty rust colored female Cocker Spaniel 6-8 years old. Francie comes to us from Animal Care and Control of NYC, where she was released to us as a cruelty case. She had clearly been starved, weighing in at only 16 pounds when a good weight for her frame would be roughly 26. At the time of intake, Francie was emaciated and too weak to stand. Our vet found her to be anemic and immediately placed her on an IV drip. Despite the horrors of her ordeal, Francie remains an exceptionally sweet and gentle girl who shows no signs of food aggression. In terms of temperament, this girl scores an A++, so is sure to make an excellent family dog. Francie is spayed, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. She will be treated to a dental cleaning once she regains her health. Francie is now well enough to leave the hospital and is ready to continue her recovery in foster care. If you would like to take her home, please email rescue@nyabandonedangels.com or visit http://www.nyabandonedangels.com/ , where you can complete and return an on-line application. Foster Francie today and bring a little bit of Paris home for the New Year.
