My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mickela is a two-year-old purebred pekingese who was given up by her owners because they said they no longer wanted her. He said that the dog belonged to his mother in law who was abusing the dog so her took her. Then he gave her to us.

Mickela is super sweet with adults, kids, cats and dogs. She is a wonderful lap warmer. She would make a great pet therapy dog or a dog that could go to work with someone.

UPDATE 10-20-09 Mickela is such a funny little girl! We have discovered that Mickela is not picky about who to love, she loves everyone, both human and canine and feline! She loves getting scratched behind the ears and loves being on laps and held. What a doll!!
UPDATE 10-28-09 Mickela went to the vet to get spayed and to our dismay we learned that she had a fractured jaw. The vet said it was likely due to getting kicked. We had x-rays taken and fortunately she will not need surgery. The fracture is in her lower jaw and over time it will heal. She also has an ear infection and a skin allergy. She is being treated for all and on pain killer for her jaw. Mickela is a real amazing dog. To think someone abused her so and she still loves everybody.
