April 10, 2018 Update:
Nestle has been on a diet and exercise program and is doing extremely well! She has lost roughly 8 lbs. With her ‘new’ body comes a whole lot more! New energy, new endurance, new sass and the ability to chase her tail and get it! She is also not as ‘stiff’ getting up and actually enjoys rolling around on her back.
Nestle continues to follow our pack’s lead and gels well with them. Our youngest BC happens to be the pack leader and let’s Nestle know if she doesn’t approve. She listens and respects the ‘warning’. However, when meeting new dogs, Nestle tests the boundaries to see what she can and cannot get away with. Meet-n-greets with her keep us on our toes. She also doesn’t have a preference for males or females as she has done good and not well with both genders.
A new side to Ness has appeared….we have some strong ‘herding’ in our genes. With some fur friends, she likes to run up behind and nip their tushes or ankles. She will do this while they are running or standing still. Other times she may use her muzzle and push them in their sides. Some dogs will tolerate it and some won’t.
We are still working on boundary training. For the most part she stays within the yard while we are exercising with ball play or out for a potty break. However, a simple distraction like another dog, squirrel or bird will grab her attention. We keep a long leash on her in the event she decides she may want to chase it.
Ness is still so very sweet and loves being with her human/s. She craves attention and looks for direction. She needs a strong human leader/s to guide her. It may take her a little bit to warm up, but giving her time and having patience will get her to trust you more quickly.
Reach out if you think you can keep up with this diamond in the ‘ruff’
