Update 12-2-2019
Petunia is still looking for a family that’s her own. We truly cannot figure out why she hasn’t been adopted yet. She is happy, loving, playful, easy going, and of course beautiful. Some people have thought that she needs her wheelchair at all times but she doesn’t. She gets around wonderfully in her foster home without her chair. She loves to go on walks and does need her chair for that.
There’s a new development with Petunia. She has always been like Velcro to her foster mom; yes even in the bathroom and during mom’s shower time. However, Petunia has begun to give the foster mom some freedom and isn’t so glued to her. Here’s Petunia with one of her foster humans. If you’d like to know more about Petunia or meet her please fill out our adoption application or contact us at medicalanimalsinneed@gmail.com.
Update:
Petunia is now 18 months old and still waiting for the perfect family. She's growing and learning every day. She enjoys playing with humans of all ages and is up for some horsing around with her K-9 friends. Her foster mom and foster Aunt have been working hard to help Petunia with her water fear. They've definitely succeeded because Petunia has recently decided that she might enjoy (rather than avoid) the family pool. Petunia also loves chasing the ball in the yard while showing off her catching tricks and being goofy. She’s loyal and loving. She needs an outlet of some sort for all of that energy and must have a grass yard to play in. Petunia needs a person that is available to take her outside throughout the day to go potty because dog doors aren’t easy for her. She sleeps quietly through the night at the foot of the bed and she loves hanging with kids. Petunia is loved beyond words by her foster family but she would love a family to call her own.
Hi there, I’m Petunia and guess what, I come with my own set of wheels!!! Thanks to the wonderful folks at M.A.I.N. I’m gonna be able to go on long walks outside with my foster Mom and kids. Thankfully I don’t need my set of wheels in the house as I get along inside just fine.
Do you want to hear my story? I can tell you as much as I can remember (not much as I haven’t been on the earth for a very long time, so my history and memory are pretty short). I remember being in a field – by myself, with wonky back legs – when a nice man named Rob rescued me. Thank you nice man for saving my life.
Then miracle of miracles I was taken in by the astounding folks at M.A.I.N. (yeah, I know another shameless plug, I just can’t help myself my life is so wonderful…). So here I am, a really little kid who’s growing up fast (my foster Mom thinks I’ll be about 30 lbs when I’m all finished) learning potty training, having fun with my dog friends, but the best of the best are my new human kiddos! They are the amazing. Because I love them so much I’m making a big effort to follow them around, which is helping to make by back legs a little stronger. I hope I will grow out of this phase, but for right now, who knows? I’m just happy I’m getting a little stronger one day at a time. I’ve made a lot of progress during my brief stay. I’ve learned my good bathroom habits, to sleep in my kennel, hang out in the sun, cuddling up with my peeps and having fun with my chew toys. I’m not perfect – yet, but give me some time and I will grow up to be the best dog you’ve ever met. I just need some love, understanding, a few more humans and doggy friends and a home to call my own. Could you be that place? Let me know, I’ll be patiently waiting. Love ya. -- Petunia.
I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and come with my County license. My adoption fee is $250.
