We are listing Avalanche as a courtesy to a woman who is trying to rehome him. Her son is severely allergic and although they have tried to adjust his allergies are just too severe. Avalanche is a two year old French Lop/Dutch mix. He is very friendly and used to children, and he also likes cats! He would probably love to have another bunny to pal around with, so if you have a spayed girl who would like a boyfriend, Avalanche might be your boy!
His mom describes Avalanche as "surprisingly large" - about 10 pounds! If you are a fan of big bunnies, then this is your guy!
Avalanche can be a bit territorial over his housing and food with some grunting. This could probably be alleviated by keeping him in an open exercise pen or letting him be free range in a bunny-proofed home, but it's within normal bunny behavior so it shouldn't be a problem. He is otherwise very friendly and has been around three homeschooled kids much of the time. Avalanche has been an indoor bunny and would like to stay indoors! The adoption fee is $50 which helps defray the considerable costs of spay/neuter, other veterinary expenses, food, and equipment. All of our rabbits have received a full vet check up and are spayed/neutered. We adopt only to indoor homes, and prefer adult-only homes. We do not adopt rabbits as pets for children. We consider homes with older children, dogs or ferrets on a case-by-case basis.
