Fred has been with us since he was puppy! He is a pure-bred Border Collie and is 10 years old. He loves running and throwing the tennis ball. He is crate-trained and has completed basic obedience training. He takes 1 medication to assist with some storm anxieties and standard flea and heartworm prevention medications. He is current on all vaccines and vet visits. He gets along with other dogs.
While he has been an incredible support and companion over the past 10 years, we have to consider what is best for our entire family. While intelligent, loving, energetic, and fun, Fred has had challenges with the "smaller members" of our pack and would be better suited to a home without children. A few weeks ago, he nipped our 3-year old, which we spoke to the vet about, but she attributed the incident to some medication he was taking. It got us thinking that Fred might be happier with a family that can take him on daily walks and trips to the dog park and overall, offer him more attention.
