Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Amber is a young Syrian hamster who was rescued, with other hamsters, from squalid and overcrowded conditions. They were initially very nervous around humans, but they have settled down and learned to trust at their foster home. While Amber was housed with her daughter when she was very young, they were eventually separated and housed in different enclosures. This is because they are Syrian hamsters, a solitary breed that cannot cohabitate. Syrian hamsters need to be housed individually after a certain age or they will fight, sometimes viciously enough to seriously injure or even kill each other.
Amber is approximately 9 months old. She is in good health, curious, and she loves to eat a variety of fresh foods and spending time playing in the hamster playground at their foster home! Amber is very chatty and not afraid to let us know when she disapproves of something. She is also very curious about her surroundings and is now getting used to being held and petted.
