My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name?
Sherbert aka Sherbasaurus, Sherbie

How old are you?
About 10 months

How much do you weigh?
38 lbs of energetic love

What do you look like?
According to my foster mom I look like the cutest thing on four legs. She says I have amazing ears and beautiful markings on my face.

What do you like to eat?
Everything! But right now I eat Taste of the Wild puppy food, which does the job.

What kind of personality do you have?
I love to be affectionate and play, play, play! I have a lot of energy, but I also love a good snuggle session when I’m spent. I especially love being on my parent’s bed-it makes me feel special and extra loved. I always want to be with my human and help them do things around the house, like loading the dishwasher and folding laundry.

Describe your perfect day
Well like I said above I would love to spend the majority of the day playing and running and fetching (well, half way fetching. I’m still learning how to give the toy back). I’d like to go for a car ride or a walk-it makes me happy to be out of the house and seeing new things. After a fun filled day (with lots of treats) would crawl into bed with my humans and sleep.

What is your favorite toy?
I like my ropes and bone and kong and just about anything I can get my mouth on.

Do you know any tricks?
I do this trick with my ears that makes my mom give me whatever I want. Oh, and I can sit.

What scares you?
I’m not really scared of much, but sudden noises can make me jump a little. Then I just want to investigate it.

Have you been around children? Do you like them?
I have a 6 year old and 10 year old human and I like them a lot, especially when they play with me. But I can get too excited and my mom has to remind me not to nibble on them.

Do you like cats?
I like to chase them, which I guess I’m not supposed to do but I can’t help myself!

How do you feel about other dogs?
I love them! I love to play with them but I’m still learning my manners so I need to be taught not to nibble on them too.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right next to my human, going on adventures with them and spending all my time with them.

How is your health?
Fantastic!

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with my foster mom, dad, human siblings, dog brother and my cat brother.
I’m always trying to hang out with my dog brother but he’s old and likes to sleep a lot, so I like to hang out with all my humans

Where do you hang out when you’re home alone?
In my crate.

Where do you sleep?
I sleep in my dog bed in my human’s room.

Do you like walking on a leash?
I just started going for walks a week or so ago, so I’m still learning but I love it!

Do you have any not-so-great habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard?
I’m still what my mom calls “mouthy” but I’m working on it. I like to sneak away clothes, toys, or really anything I can get my paws on and nibble on them.

Are you house trained?
Kinda. I still have accidents in the house now and then, but I’m getting better every day.

Do you like water?
I enjoy my bath and playing in puddles.

What do you love about your foster family?
I love when they play with me and cuddle me-it’s the best.

What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue?
I was in this kinda scary place called the shelter and my leg was injured. The nice doctor there said they thought I may have been hit by a car and might need to remove my leg. The rescue came and gave me to my foster family where I could get better safely and my leg healed all on it’s own.

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Sherbert's adoption donation is $350.

Interested in meeting Sherbert or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
