Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SUNNY is being fostered in Durham, NC. You MUST be willing to drive here for pick up at adoption time. We do NOT ship animals, no exceptions. However we do have a name of a transporter if you need one, those fees are entirely separate from adoption fees.
ADOPTION FEE: $350
Sunny MUST HAVE AN EXPERIENCED BOXER OWNER.
SUNNY is a pure bred male Boxer, brindle in color. He is 3 yrs old, heart worm negative, and on monthly preventions. He is up to date on all vaccines & rabies. Neutered and microchipped as well & weighs about 65-70 lbs. He was well cared for by his previous owner. He is very healthy, at a good weight.
Sunny belonged to a breeder in TX who her husband had to have emergency open heart surgery. She had no way to care for her dogs while also caring for her husband. Unfortunately she surrendered them all to a shelters. Our foster came in and pulled several of them. Sunny will be available for his new home around Feb 23rd-25th.
He is shy friendly around new people and is so used to other Boxer. He is NOT aggressive at all, but has to acclimate to his new surroundings.
We feel he needs an experienced Boxer owner, someone who understands the breed, who will be patient while he learns more about his new family and routine. He is doing GREAT with our foster after just a few days he warmed up to her and now comes for his love & petting. He follows her all around the property now and then lays quietly inside when they go in. So far no accidents in the house, but at bedtime she as been crating him since there are other dogs there. He is doing great in the yard with medium sized dogs, shows no real interest in them. But he does want to be your lap dog.
An ideal home for Sunny would be possibly another Boxer, no small dogs, a fenced yard for sure, no kids under 15, and someone who is willing to love him and give him time to show all the love he has to give. A home with a nice comfy sofa and a lap will suit this big boy.
These are all the details we know about Sunny, so please do NOT email for more information, your email be disregarded.
If you're interested in adopting Sunny, please email me for an application.
