Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kitty
DOB: 07/09/2014
SEX: Female
BREED: Domestic Long Hair
COLOR: Orange Tabby
Kitty loves the matriarch of our household and "talks" to her when she needs something or when it's late and Kitty is sure it's time for everybody to be in bed. She loves to lie on Mom's lap when it's finally time to sit down and relax for a little TV at the end of the evening. She loves to have her head stroked and gently scratched. Kitty was born into a house with a small dog and has lived with another small dog since then, for about 3-1/2 years. Kitty tries to play with the dog, but the dog is solely focused on humans and ignores Kitty. They often sleep near each other, but Kitty doesn't have a cuddle buddy here. I think she'd do fine with any big gentle playmate, another cat, or another small dog, whether cuddly or aloof. Kitty is often not receptive to our children. Although they are sweet and gentle kids, Kitty has been known to hiss at them and occasionally swipe at them when they tried to touch her. A few times, Kitty surprised my daughter by jumping up and napping on her lap, but she was still jumpy. I wouldn't put her with small children, just in case. Kitty gets mostly dry food but loves wet also. She doesn't love being picked up but will tolerate it for a bit if you keep it short and put her down gently to let her mark you. She occasionally goes outside for a bit to sit on the patio or wander as much as 20' from the door, watching the dog for warnings of coyote activity. Kitty never runs off and comes back when you call her. She is a good hunter of the occasional bug that flies in or spider that peeks out, but has never caught a mouse or lizard. She never runs around all night, waking the family. She's fine with nail trimming and tolerates baths, but hasn't been brushed regularly. She'd probably love it. She might be lonely by herself at first if you work all day and she doesn't have a buddy, but she'd adapt. She has been left alone for 9-day vacations and done well (with a neighbor cleaning her box). Upon our return, she forgave us within a few minutes and always acted normal afterwards. Kitty is a very sweet, healthy, young, and well-adjusted cat. You can rename her and still have her answer to Kitty too. She will be your devoted companion.

She's a good girl. She doesn't tear things up. If you tell her to leave something alone, she walks away.
