Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Your very best dog could very well be Pedro, a cat who arrived at the shelter in mid-January and has a very canine character! He is a real “sidekick” of a cat, wanting a lot of his volunteers’ attention, and not very patient when we are busy with other tasks. We get so many cats that need to be drawn out socially, but Pedro is the opposite — he is a highly social cat, very desperate to be let out of his cage for attention and love when we get in each morning, wanting to be held and kissed, to sit on a lap and rub faces before he will allow us to do our general chores. He’s very curious and wants to be a part of everything we do, whether it’s cleaning litter boxes, sweeping out cages or washing dishes. He is generally a happy cat, but he can get a little fresh if we're not paying attention to him when he's out, and is very unhappy when we put him back in his cage. He's kind of a brat, but a very entertaining and affectionate brat! He gets along well with other cats and really likes their company, and we think he’d enjoy living with another cat who wouldn’t mind a sidekick. Pedro didn’t seem bothered by a shelter dog he met, so he might make a nice companion to a dog as well. He could prove to be too sassy for small children, but we expect that once he's in a home where he gets a lot more love and attention than we can give him at the shelter, his social needs will be fulfilled and he’ll settle into a household routine, happy to be part of a family.
Pedro is approximately 4 to 6 years old, is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please).
