Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Libby! Libby is a 13 yr old, 5.7 lb, toothless chihuahua who is looking for her forever home. Libby is a sweet little lady whose favorite pastimes are burrowing under blankets and being pet. She does great with potty training- either pottying outside or on pee pads. She is quiet in the home, low key, and does well on a leash - so she would be a great candidate for condo living. Libby does well with other dogs, both large and small, but she does like her personal space. Due to rear end mobility issues (see below) she would be best suited as a companion- a lap dog or purse dog- not one to be taken for walks.
Libby had surgery to remove some pre-cancerous mammary growths and has been given a clean bill of health, but she will need to be monitored for any new growths in the future. When we got Libby she had not been using her rear right leg due to what our vet believes was an old soft tissue injury with nerve damage. We currently are taking her to treatments to help her regain use of her leg and she is taking pain medication. Libby gets along with people very well, but due to her mobility situation we would like to see her placed in home without small children.
Libby's adoption donation of $150 helps to cover the cost of her medical care, which included her vaccinations, heartworm testing, microchip, dental, spay, growth removals, biopsy and preliminary physical therapy.
For more information on Libby contact us at info@perfectpooches.org. We prefer applicants live within a 1.5-2 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Adoptions outside of that geographical radius may be considered on a case-by-case basis, but the adoption process usually takes longer to complete. We do not ship dogs and we do not do same day adoptions. Application, reference checks, and home visit required.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped.
