Twinkie is a maybe 1-year-old, less than 4-pound "Teacup" Chihuahua. She's cute as a button and sweet as can be.
Like most teensy dogs Twinkie is shy in new situations. She's a homebody who loves her bed and her humans and is happy to cuddle under your blanket or in your shirt. Children would be too much for such a little dog.
Safety is paramount when adopting a teeny dog, so we're looking for a very cautious family committed to keeping her safe and loved the rest of her life. Twinkie is not yet fully potty trained so will need guidance with that.
Twinkie was recently spayed, received her Distemper, Bordatella and Rabies vaccines, was heart-worm and fecal tested, and is microchipped. This is the annual preventative vetting most vets recommend. Twinkie's adoption fee of $350 helps us pay for the needs of the many older, medical case, and unpopular breed dogs that we help.

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Northwest Indiana. We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
