Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I sat there all alone, except for the garbage that surrounded my tired fragile body. I knew I was still alive because my rumbling tummy told me so. No way to get out, I was too small and weak. Is the person who put me in here coming back to get me out? I often asked myself that question, as I tried to get comfortable which was not an easy task as my boney body hurt with each step I made. It felt like I was in there for forever and a day. I remember I started to panic; I did not want to die. That is when I cried out to God and prayed as hard as I could with every bit of life I had in me. I said to Him, oh dear God, I want to live, I have so much love to give. I am not angry or bitter toward the person who did not feed me and put me in this garbage can. If you have a purpose for me here on earth please save me soon. Whatever Your will may be, I know You love me. I was exhausted, could barely keep my swollen tear stained eyes open. I laid my head down and closed my eyes, sweet dreams I said to myself as I quickly fell asleep. I dreamed of food, lots of yummy food and running and playing and snuggling with all kinds of nice people big and small. I could hear their voices, oh sweet voices from above. All of a sudden, my eyes shot wide open, those are real voices! I jumped right up. HERE, I shouted, I am in HERE! PLEASE, HELP ME! As I looked up squinting into the bright sun, I see a kind face with outstretched arms leaning in. The man said, “Oh dear God, what do we have here, you poor baby”. He picked me up, brought me close to his face, and gave me a kiss on the top of my head. Overwhelmed with joy, I looked up at the sky and thanked God, then thanked the man with a thousand kisses all over his face. Knowing he could not keep me, the man’s nice friend called the rescue folks and they took me in. My name is Logan. I was 9 weeks old and weighed 3.8 pounds when I was first rescued. I am now 7 months old and weigh a healthy 42 pounds. I am an active boy who enjoys going several times a week to daycare at Karen’s K9 Obedience in Pascagoula, MS. I get to socialize with all my canine friends and play until I am wore out. I am a smart boy who is eager to please and learning basic commands is a breeze for me. I walk well on a leash and sit like a good boy when I go for rides in the car. I mastered potty training early on and use the doggie door when I need to go. I am an affectionate boy who is quite the charmer when meeting new people. My ideal person would be someone who can devote his or her time and love to me. I am young so an active lifestyle or access to daycare to expend my energy daily is best for me. The rescue folks had a DNA test done on me and it shows that I am 75% American Staffordshire Terrier, 12.5% Boxer and 12.5% Mixed Terrier. One of my parents was an American Staffordshire Terrier and the other was a Staffordshire and Boxer mix. Therefore, that explains my handsomeness, intelligence and wanting to be the class clown at times. It is also important to me that my training and socialization continue, my goal in life is to be the best I can be and when I am a little older, I would like to work maybe as a therapy dog so I can help others. My trainers say that is a possibility and if it is meant to be, that I would be great at it. If you are interested in adopting me, please visit www.foreverhome4dogsrescue.com to learn about their adoption process and to complete and submit an application to be considered. If you have specific questions about the application, please email foreverhome4dogs@aol.com. Hope to hear from you soon, Love Logan.
