Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hesper was brought to Devore Animal Shelter in September of 2017 at only about 5 or 6 weeks old. She was underage and without a mom so she would have been put to sleep had she not been intercepted by a Kitty Devore Rescue member.
She was named after the desert lily (Hesperocallis undulata) and, like the desert lily that starts off as a dull and scraggly plant and blossoms into a big beautiful flower, Hesper came to us as a malnourished and disheveled kitten and has blossomed into the beautiful cat she is today.
Hesper will require someone that doesn't mind cuddles because she is a chest cat. Once you lay down she likes to take up residence on your chest while calming you with her purr. Who doesn't want a beautiful fluffball to cuddle with after a long day?!
She spends her play time looking for things to steal from her foster mom. Some of her favorite treasures are dollar bills, receipts, socks (preferably dirty), raw broccoli, napkins (even while you're using them), or any other object she might turn into a toy to carry around in her mouth and bat around the floor. She can turn most anything into a toy to entertain herself.
Hesper also enjoys trying to get her foster brother Harry's attention by headbutting and pouncing on him. While Harry, at 4.5 years old, is not usually one to put up with kitten antics, he has taken to Hesper and has done a good job of teaching her boundaries. And while he might not admit it, he has been know to instigate play by teasing Hesper with his tail. He's helped raise Hesper into the sweet and sassy kitty she is now.
As you can see from Hesper's photos, she is a stunning cat with her mostly white body and her bushy raccoon-like tail made up of orange and gray tabby markings. But even if she were the plainest of kitties she would stand out with her playful and cuddly nature.
