My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cabernet is a handsome fellow who was born in March of 2010 and weighs about 50 pounds. He is polite on a leash and likes to go for long walks or jogging with people. Cabbie really loves to run loose on the property. He doesn't run away, just searches for the elusive rabbits. He is very friendly with people of all ages but isn't pushy. He is happy just to hang out with you. He isn't clingy and doesn't need to be touching you all the time even though he does enjoy being scratched and appreciated. He rides well in the car and is easy to bathe. Cabbie is house trained and is crate trained. Even as a mature dog, he is very athletic and would make a terrific companion, especially to someone who likes to take long walks. He is smart and responsive. Cabernet is a prince still waiting for his kingdom. Won't you give him the opportunity to enjoy his golden years?

More about this rescue

Formed in 2008, Cinderella Pet Rescue was established to rescue animals from abuse, neglect and abandonment and to help prepare the for adoption. Additionally CPR promotes spay/neuter to reduce the serious homeless pet crisis in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. An all volunteer organization, there are normally between 55 and 65 dogs at our no-kill shelter as well as a couple dozen cats. Even more pets are placed in foster homes in preparation for adoption. Not funded by anyone, Cinderella Pet Rescue counts on donations and fundraisers to support the needs of the animals in care, from food to veterinary treatment. More volunteers and foster homes are always needed.
