***1/18/18 - ADOPTION PENDING!***
How this young girl wound up at the shelter in eastern Washington, we have no idea. We’ve only had her for a short time, but it already appears that she was well loved by someone and will be a treasured companion for whoever is lucky enough to adopt her.
We have no idea what breed or breeds she is, but she’s a cuddly black teddy bear. She’s not all that tall, but is thick-boned and has a sturdy 19” neck. Madison is about 18 months old and weighs 52 pounds.
Madison seems to know some basic commands like 'sit' and 'shake', and she walks very well on a leash. She is housetrained, takes treats very gently, is crate trained, and rides well in the car (in a crate). Maddie appears to get along with dogs of both sexes, and so far has shown no interest in the cat in her foster home. Madison loves people, but we don’t know how she is with children.
Maddie is still getting used to having toys and playing with the other dogs. She likes to romp with the other dogs in her foster household and always has a smile on her face. She hasn’t shown any herding drive.
This sweet girl settles well in the house and seems happy to just hang out near you. She loves to make eye contact and give you her paws, often sitting and resting both paws lightly on you in a kind of “sit pretty” position.
There are also a lot of notable things Madison does NOT do. She does not jump up on people, rarely barks, and has not done any counter surfing. And to date, she hasn’t been destructive of anything, even her own toys.
Madison's adoption fee is $225. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. She will come with a collar and ID tag.
