Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sigh, Odessa. We all adore her. She's simply a wonderful dog. Odessa is a Rat Terrier (mix?) and is 7-years-old and about 12 pounds. She belonged to an older couple who were having a very hard time taking proper care of her. She came to us a bit skinny but otherwise healthy and with a history of semi-regular vet care.
Odessa is a true lap dog and needs a person or family who wants a snuggle buddy, lap percher, tag-a-long on trips to the bathroom, and wants a burrower to keep their legs warm under the covers at night.
Odessa really enjoys playing with dogs and acts younger than her age. She's not hyper, but isn't one to sleep 20 hours a day either. She'd love a small dog friend who'd play with her or a family interested in daily enrichment (training, walks, playtime, snuggle time, etc). She's not in full retirement mode yet, and we'd love to find a family who'd help make these next years her best.
Odessa hasn't a mean bone in her body. She'll bark if crated when you're home, but settles down when you leave. She hasn't shown interest yet in toys but still may, she loves her foster Mom, but foster Dad is her person.
Odessa is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines (rabies, distemper, bordatella), has tested negative for heartworms, had a negative fecal test, and is microchipped. She is kept on monthly heartworm preventative. Her adoption fee is $250.
The first step to adopt Odessa is to read all about adoption with Happy Tails Rescue Inc. and fill out an application. If we think your home sounds like a good fit we'll be in touch. Click here to go to our web site: www.happytailsrescueinc.org/adoption-available-dogs

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Northwest Indiana. We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
