Hi there! My name is Cher and my brothers name is Trumpet. Nice to meet you. We are a happy friendly neutered male and spayed female spaniel mixes. I weigh about 15 pounds Trumpet weighs 24. My friends here at the rescue think we are probably on the senior side of life, maybe somewhere between 10 and 12 years old. It's just a guess though. Nobody knows for sure.
We have a happy go lucky attitude and we're always thrilled to spend time with other dogs and people. We also happen to be totally adorable! You'd never guess from our charming demeanor and good looks that I have a very sad story to tell.
When CageFree found me at the pound, We had severe alopecia, that had gone along time without any type of treatment . I was in even worse condition then my brother my eyes were sealed shut with crust, when the shelter was finally able to clean them up so I could open them, it was to late I had already gone blind. The shelter staff was disgusted that someone would surrender their dogs in such horrible condition. We had long nails, missing teeth, It wasn't looking good for us at the pound so they imminently contacted CageFree to tell them about our story . They came straight over and rescued us from the shelter and sent us to their private vet. Turns out we have minor heart murmurs that luckily don't require any medication. We did get eye medication and drops to help preserve what we have left. We aren't sure if our coat will ever completely grow back. But it doesn't stop us, We still have high spirits and great outlook on life!
So here's what we are looking for -- I need an angel. Someone who has a heart of gold and wants to help me and my brother live out our golden years in a warm bed to sleep and nice family to make us feel special. I know it's a lot to ask, We look a little rough on the outside but we have hearts of gold on the inside. I think we deserve a chance to feel safe and loved.
