Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Amber is an adorable girl with a soft somewhat silkie white coat with golden-orangeish splashes. She also has freckles on her feet, legs, tummy, and nose.. She is a littel shy at first, but if you play with her and give her some affection she will love you forever.
She loves to play in the backyard (1/2 acre fenced) especially climbing up on the Little Tyke gym, so she can be level with you and can give kisses and get lots of attention! But when playtime is over, she wants to curl up beside you on the couch and be a true snuggle bunny. She is crate trained and sleeps in the crate at night because of the number of dogs here, but she would rather sleep in the bed beside you. She misses her sister who is now in Maine with her forever family. Are you the family or person for Amber? She needs a fenced yard so she has an area to play in and go potty.
Her date of birth is July 4,2008
She is heartworm negative, is on normal schedule for all her vaccinations,(bordetella and lime) is very healthy and is micro-chipped. We give flea/tick and heartworm prevention year round and each pet is given a multi-vitamin each day.
Amber may be part Basset Hound since she is very long bodied not square, but much longer than she is high. Their mother was a very small black Spaniel type who got away from her owners and went on a "speed dating" tour, and of course came home pregnant. Eight puppies later her owner had to turn them all into the county because she could not afford to feed and have them all vetted.
Amber had been at the Fairfield County Animal Shelter, and is now here with Sunset Animal Rescue. She and her brother Jem are the only two not adopted and we feel this is because they were a little shyer than the rest of the littermates. Amber is on the small side like mother and weighs about 26 pounds. Amber's measurements are 14 inches high at the shoulder and 19 inches long.
