My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*A "COURTESY LISTING”

Vlad is a very affectionate, smart boy, with a dog a like personality. He loves to be held and is very gentle. He loves getting attention and will gladly follow you around just for the chance to curl up in your lap. If you ever stop petting him he'll place his paw on your hand just to remind you that there's no such thing as too much. Do you have room in your home for this wonderful intelligent boy? Contact us.

Hi my name is Vlad and I resemble a “miniature black panther”, I am a very social kitty, about 12 years old who loves company of people a lot! I am in good health! Sadly my owner is passing away from cancer and he needs to find me a home.

I crave for human attention and will roll over on my back to get it. Overall, as the Bombay mix cat: I am intelligent, very playful, full of energy and attention-seeking kitty.

I love to be hold, pet, lay on your lap and get lots of attention. If you think you can get any work done on your PC – well, I will lay next to you on your desk to keep you company but make sure to pay attention to me too and give me a head rub meanwhile.

I am very outgoing and interactive. My favorite thing in the world is to sleep in bed with humans right under arm and purr. I'm a loyal, loving companion and a very affectionate kitty and I love to roll over on my back to show my appreciation and love. I am very outgoing and interactive.

I love playing with laser and get involved into any game you have in mind. But if you would like to relax, I will snuggle in your arms, climb on your lap and purr purr purr.

I am also very smart and learn things really fast. If you call me I respond and come right to you.

Also my glossy black coat makes me a really beautiful elegant boy.

Did you know?

Black cats have more baggage than your average feline. Seen as an enigma, a superstition, a symbol of luck – good or bad, depending on the tradition or belief, they are often misunderstood, or just plain looked over. Black cats have the lowest adoption rate. This is unfortunate, and not just for the cats- black cats make some of the best companions and people are really missing out! Although each and every cat has a unique personality, in general, I have noticed a few traits that really stand out in black cats. Here, in my humble experience is why:

Beautiful: From brownish to bluish to every shade of black in between, black cats are beautiful in the way that one can only imagine onyx would be, if it were covered in fur.

Loyal: No matter how many work trips or late nights, I am always greeted at the door. I am meowed to over the phone when away. Black cats are wonderful in being both friendly to all and dedicated to their person/people.

Adaptable: While some cats struggle with change, black cats tend to quickly adapt to whatever circumstances they are dealt.

Aware: Black cats seem to walk a line- they tend to be more calm and reserved than some other cats, yet they balance that by staying playful and active throughout their lives. They relish new toys, found objects, and are talented at entertaining themselves for hours (and napping for hours thereafter). The types of games they create and the ones they enjoy engaging in often involve others-people, cats, dogs, etc., and tend to be more complex, such as games of fetch and tag.

Smart: In a final word, black cats are smart. They are savvy to things going on around them, and highly responsive and capable of handling change, throughout which, they remain calm, loving, energetic companions.

*A "Courtesy Listing" is a posting for a cat that is not part of Cat Chance Rescue. An individual owner or rescuer asked our rescue to post the kitty to give him/her greater exposure and chances for adoption. Cat Chance Rescue does not have any direct knowledge of the cat, his/her behavior, or medical background. The cat is adopted directly from the owner/rescuer, and any fees or agreements are arranged with the mutual consent of the owner and adopter. Cat Chance Rescue is happy to offer COURTESY POSTINGS to help in the search for a loving, permanent home for any needy cat.

The adoption process:

1) You fill out an Adoption Application.

2) Our Adoption Coordinator contacts you via email to let you know the application has been received and calls you with questions about your application, checks references, and discusses which cats/kittens might be a good match.

3) If the application is approved, the Adoption Coordinator will put you in touch with the appropriate foster home(s) so you can schedule a time to meet the cats/kittens that interest you most.
Once you meet the cats/kittens you’d like to adopt, you let the foster parent and Adoption Coordinator know your choice.

4) We bring the foster cat/kitten(s) to your home and do a walk through your home to make sure your home is safe for a pet.

5) Adoption contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and we give you information to help your new family member settle in. We can provide the information about the cat/kitten(s) diet, preventative veterinary care, training...

And if you have any question a week, a month, or a year after adoption, we are here to help! If for some reason the adoption doesn’t work out, we always take the cat/kitten back.

More about this rescue

Cat Chance Rescue is a non-profit, small, all volunteer rescue group dedicated to helping cats and kittens find their forever homes.
We believe “Every Cat Deserves a Chance”.
All our cats and kittens are Spayed/Neutered, up to date on Distemper and Rabies shots, tested for FIV/FeLV, microchiped, dewormed and deflead prior to adoption.
We are no-kill rescue and all our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes until placed into forever homes.

Cat Chance Rescue is a group dedicated and committed to promoting pet spay and neuter. We provide information to educate individuals and communities of the importance of responsible pet ownership. We concentrate on spaying and neutering feral cat colonies under TNR (trap-neuter-return) program. This practice reduces unwanted litters.
