Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet boy is approx 2 yrs old and 20 lbs. He looks like he may have some corgi in him, maybe terrier. His elderly owner surrendered him to the shelter as he could no longer look after him. He was very scared when we rescued him. It took a while for him to come out of his shell, but after a week he was out running and playing with the other dogs and enjoying himself. He will need an experienced adopter that will have the patience to give him some time to settle in. He loves his doggie bed, seems to be well house trained and does pretty well on a leash but could do with some more training. He gets along with all his doggy buddies, but he does not like them to get in his face and will warn them. He loves people and is a quiet boy. He will make a great companion for someone. It is our rescue policy that we require home with no children under the age of 10 years.
When he was rescued, he tested positive for heart worms. He has been treated with the required series of injections and we usually find that that the dogs test negative after 4-6 months, we have also started him on a monthly heartworm preventative and it is a requirement of our rescue that the dogs remain on one monthly.
The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in TX in foster care. Our adoption application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
