Beasr is a very special young St. Bernard that has had a tough life so far. While we do not know his exact name, we can tell by his teeth and stature he is young. He came to us from a wonderful family that rescued him from a acqaintance and was told that he had been hit by a car on two occasions. As a result one of his back hind legs has become weak and needs to rebuild muscle. While he did not break anything, he would benefit from a family that loves the chanllenge of taking him on slow gradual walks throughout the day and understands it may take time for him to regain full mobility in the leg. He is doing great on our farm where he gets to walk three times with the other dogs on the property, through the woods and on the fields. He loves being in the car, although this is new to him and he has never met a person he does not like. He was very fearful of the other dogs at first and may not have the best manners when being introduce, but after the first day he let the other dogs come up to him and sniff him. Now he lays around like a typical St Bernard without a care in the world. We believe most of his fear comes from his injury and making sure another dog is gentle with him. He loves belly rubs and to be cuddled and you can tell he really wants to play with the other dogs on the property so we know he is going to bloom into a awesome dog. He takes treats gently, has no food aggression and in general is a true delight. We are confident anyone that meets him will fall in love. We also want to note he would do best with a family that will challenge him to continue to walk and regain his strength. Someone who is home often to shower him with love and affection and realizes that although his body may not be perfect, his temperament and spirit are joyful.
Bear is up to date on all shots, he is fully vetted and neutered. He had a quite a few parasites when he came to us that have been treated. He is a low energy dog and really deserves to be spoiled. Bear can be adopted in Maryland and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting Bear, please email Saintsrgreat6@gmail.com with Bear in the subject line for a application.
